2022 Property Value Notices

The 2022 property assessment is complete and is the basis for taxes payable in 2023. Individual valuation notices were mailed to Eden Prairie's 22,000 taxpayers March 3, 2022. These notices inform taxpayers of property classification, estimated market value, homestead exclusion, taxable market value and new improvement value. It also informs the taxpayer of their options to appeal the value and classification including the dates and times of both the Local and County Board of Appeal and Equalization meetings. Hennepin County will mail the 2022 Property Tax Statements, based on the 2021 assessment, in March.

The 2022 values and classifications can be appealed informally to the Assessing Division staff upon receipt of the value notices and formally to the 2022 Board of Appeal and Equalization April 6. Property owners will be asked to complete an application form on or before Friday, March 25. Learn more about Eden Prairie home values.

2022 Eden Prairie Estimated Market Value

The Jan. 2, 2022, total estimated market value (EMV) of the City is approximately $13.45-billion, including new construction valued at $128-million. This 2022 overall value is an increase of approximately 14% compared to the 2021 total EMV of approximately $11.8-billion.

The annual average change to existing residential properties compared with 2021 assessed values, excluding new construction of approximately $60.8-million, is shown below:

  • Single Family Homes: +19.3%
  • Townhouses: +14.7%
  • Condominiums: +12.5%
  • Cooperatives: +4.3%

Apartment EMV on average increased 4.7% and existing commercial and industrial EMV on average increased 3.5% from 2021 to 2022.

Park Facility Rentals Available

Park facility reservations for 2022 are now open at edenprairie.org/FacilityRentals. All reservation and permit requests must be submitted online. Park facilities are available to rent by Eden Prairie residents or Eden Prairie businesses only. An Eden Prairie resident cannot make a reservation on behalf of a non-resident business.

It has been a busy start to the year with the City welcoming many new employees:

Human Resources Assistant Amanda Muhlbauer worked for Evereve before joining the City. She earned her bachelor's degree in communications from Iowa State University.

Recreation Supervisor for Youth Sports and Community Programming Tessa Syverson came to Eden Prairie from the City of Chaska. She earned her bachelor's degree in recreation/outdoor education from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

Finance Supervisor Sara Aschenbeck worked in public, healthcare and municipal accounting before joining the City. She earned her bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from the University of Minnesota.

911 Dispatcher Tyler Hoyle came to Eden Prairie from the Carver County Sheriff's Office.

911 Dispatcher Meghan Leek previously worked at Carver County as a dispatcher. She earned two bachelor's degrees from Loyola University.

Human Resources Specialist Desiree Menken worked at Target prior to joining the City. Her background is in human resources management and leadership.
