Smashburger's Edina Location Opening Next Week

The Denver-based burger restaurant will be opening its Edina location on Wednesday, June 19.

The Edina Smashburger location, which has been in planning since this past August, will be opening its doors to customers at Southdale Center next week.

The ninth Minnesota Smashburger location kicks off business on Wednesday, June 19, with regional menu items like the Twin Cities Smashburger—topped with layers of melted aged cheddar and Swiss cheeses, garlic grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo on an onion bun.

Smashburger Founder and Chief Concept Officer Tom Ryan said the company is excited to continue expansion in Minnesota.

“We are thrilled to bring Smashburger’s offerings to Edina residents and Southdale Center shoppers," Ryan said. "Smashburger has been well-received by burger lovers in Minnesota, and we are looking forward to growing the brand in the area.”

The first Minnesota Smashburger opened in St. Anthony back in 2009, which was the company's seventh in the nation at the time. Since then, Smashburgers have launched in Eagan, Eden Prairie, Golden Valley, Plymouth, Roseville, St. Anthony, St. Paul and Woodbury.

Denver-based Smashburger offers a menu that includes burgers, hot dogs, french fries, sweet potato fries, black bean burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, Häagen-Dazs shakes and floats and kids meals.
