Brooklyn Center Police to Investigate Officer Interaction

A Brooklyn Center police officer is heard in a video uploaded to Facebook threatening to "put two in the back" of a suspect's head.

The Brooklyn Center Police Department is investigating an incident after a video of an interaction between a Brooklyn Center officer and a citizen surfaced on Facebook. Police say the suspect shown in the video was wanted in a crime and was actively evading law enforcement.

At one point in the video, the officer is heard threatening to "put two in the back" of the suspect's head if he moved.

"While the use of a forceful command may be necessary to ensure the safety of both the person being given the command and the officer, threatening language is never appropriate or acceptable," Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon said on Facebook. "We take all matters of conduct by our officers seriously."

"Thankfully, neither the officer nor the suspect was injured from the encounter." Police say the incident was partially captured by a squad car's camera/audio system.
