Fridley Teen Found Dead On Road, Murder Investigation Begins

The death of a teen found on the road in the northwest metro early Monday is being investigated as a murder, officials announced.

FRIDLEY, MN — The death of a Fridley teen found on the road in the northwest metro early Monday is being investigated as a murder. On July 17 at 1:12 a.m., officers from the Fridley Police Department were dispatched to a call of a "male not breathing" on the side of the road in the 7600 block of Meadowmoor Drive NE. Upon the arrival of the Fridley officers, they discovered a male who was deceased.

Police said the teen was a 17-year-old male who lived in Fridley. Authorities say the manner of death indicates foul play. The identity of the victim will not be released now pending notification of relatives.

"This is still a very active investigation that is in its beginning stages," police said in a statement. "There is very little information that we will be releasing at this point, but there will be updates as events warrant."

The case is under the investigation of the Fridley Police Department, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
