LAKEVILLE, MN — A 14-year-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle earlier this week in Lakeville, according to his family.

“He was so full of life, happiness, and joy,” the GoFundMe said. “If you were one lucky enough to have known Max, you knew he lit up every room he walked into.”

Wilson was crossing Granby Lane on a motorized scooter at 179th Street when he was hit by a westbound vehicle around 3:15 p.m. Monday, police said, noting the intersection has stop signs in the north and south directions, but not to the east and west.

Wilson, whose family said he suffered brain injuries, was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, according to police, who said the woman driving the striking vehicle was not injured.

Donations to Wilson’s GoFundMe will help pay for medical and funeral expenses, according to the fundraiser, which had received about $75,000 as of Wednesday evening.
