Alcohol Involved In Crash That Killed Teen From Eden Prairie: Patrol

Alcohol was detected in the man who survived the crash, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

SHAKOPEE, MN — Alcohol was involved in a crash late Tuesday night that killed a 19-year-old from Eden Praire, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The crash happened in Shakopee just before midnight.

A Volkswagen Golf was making a turn from westbound County Road 101 to southbound Valley Park Drive. A Mitsubishi Outlander was traveling eastbound on County Road 101 and collided with the Volkswagen at the intersection, investigators said.

The driver of the Volkswagen died. Authorities will release more information on the teen on Thursday.

The Mitsubishi driver, a 26-year-old man from Hopkins, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center. Alcohol was detected on the man, investigators said.
