The Dakota County Board of Commissioners voted Feb. 22 to repeal the mandate due to rapidly declining COVID-19 case rates and other local indicators.

To safely conduct business, the county may still require face masks in certain locations, such as vaccination clinics, the Juvenile Services Center and the Law Enforcement Center. Due to a court order, masks will continue to be mandated in the public areas of court facilities, including the Judicial Center in Hastings and court areas at the Northern Service Center and Western Service Center.
