Dakota County Government: Historical Society To Host Virtual Book Club

The Dakota County Historical Society will host a virtual book club presentation with author, Natalie Warren on Thursday, March 17 at 7 p.m. Admission to the event is free. The presentation will coincide with the historical society's book club's featured book, “Hudson Bay Bound: Two Women, One Dog, Two Thousand Miles to the Arctic" by Warren.

While registration for this event is free, donations are encouraged. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link. No account is required to view the presentation once you receive the link. Unrelenting winds, carnivorous polar bears, snake nests, sweltering heat, and constant hunger. Paddling from Minneapolis to Hudson Bay, following the 2,000-mile route made famous by Eric Sevareid in his 1935 class Canoeing with the Cree, ​Warren and Ann Raiho faced unexpected trials, some harrowing, some simply odd. Warren will present on her experiences and the book she wrote detailing these accounts and much more.
