Gun Store Burglary In Dakota Co. Caught On Tape: Cops

Burglars used a Ford Flex to ram the rear of the building to gain access, according to police.

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — Lakeville police are asking for the public’s help in finding suspects involved in a gun shop burglary in the northern part of the city. The burglary occurred Friday morning at Dakota Custom Guns, 17400 Kenwood Trail.

Burglars used a Ford Flex to ram the rear of the building to gain access, according to police. Once inside, the thieves stole several handguns, authorities said.

The Ford Flex used in the crime is distinctive as it was driving on a spare tire on the front right, or passenger side, of the vehicle, according to investigators. The black rim is different from the other three.

The car also has damage to the front left side fender. There may be more damage to the front and rear of the car.

The suspects in the case both disguised their appearance by wearing hoodies.

One suspect appears to be tall, approximately 6 feet, 5 inches tall, wearing jeans that are cropped or rolled up on one leg, police said. The suspect is also wearing distinct red shoes.

The other suspect is approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, slim build, authorities said in a release.
