Lakeville Area Schools Dismissing Early For Snow Storm

A winter storm warning is in effect for the Twin Cities metro.

LAKEVILLE, MN — Lakeville area schools will dismiss two hours early Friday due to the impending snow storm.

A winter storm warning is in effect for much of the Twin Cities Metro from noon Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday.

Lakeville Area Schools will dismiss 2 hours early on Friday, December 10 due to the incoming winter storm. Kid Zone child care will not be offered after school. Elementary students will be dismissed at the end of the shortened school day, according to their Emergency Instructions.
Full-day Small Wonders Preschool, as well as afternoon Early Childhood Family Education classes, Wonder Zone child care and Adult Basic Education programs will be dismissed early. Afternoon Small Wonders Preschool sections are canceled.

  • After-school and evening Community Education programs are canceled.
  • Middle school after-school activities are canceled.
  • All after-school and evening facility use by non-district community groups is canceled.
  • High school after-school activities and athletics must conclude by 3 p.m.
  • Access to all school buildings and District facilities will end at 3 p.m.
This decision was made based on factors including forecasted weather, road conditions for student transportation, and the ability to operate buildings safely
