Lakeville Schools Closed Friday

LAKEVILLE, MN — Lakeville schools are closed Friday out of an abundance of caution after the district said it received a social media threat overnight as schools nationwide warned of a TikTok challenge that threatened gun violence.

"We take any threat to school safety seriously and worked aggressively with the Lakeville Police Department to investigate the threat throughout the night and determine its credibility," the district said. "Despite those efforts, this investigation remains active, so all schools and district buildings will be closed today."
