INTERNATIONAL FALLS, MN — Voyageurs National Park, located in International Falls, is one of six underrated national parks, according to a new report.

"Voyageurs National Park is about as close as you can get to Canada while enjoying the pristine beauty of northern Minnesota," says Forbes. "In the summertime, you can enjoy fishing, boating and kayaking. Campsites and houseboats are available to stay in the park."

The park is located just west of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. There is no fee to enter the park, and activities range from canoeing in the spring, summer, and fall to snowshoeing in the winter.

According to the National Park Service, Voyageurs is home to 218,055 acres, "full of exposed rock ridges, cliffs, wetlands, forests, streams, and lakes."

The agency continues, noting that the Voyageurs parkland is on a "transition between land and aquatic ecosystems, between southern boreal and northern hardwood forests, and between wild and developed areas. Whether you are exploring by land, water or ice there is something for everyone."
