MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins have broken their 18-game postseason losing streak, the longest such streak in North American professional sports history.

The Twins hadn't won a postseason game since Game 1 of the 2004 American League Division Series against the New York Yankees at the old Yankee Stadium.

But thanks to home runs from designated hitter Royce Lewis and absolute heat from pitcher Pablo Lopex, the Twins ended that streak with a 3-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday night.
