Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert Suspended After Punching Teammate: Report

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert reportedly must serve a one-game suspension after punching teammate Kyle Anderson during Sunday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, who broke the news Monday afternoon, said Golbert will not travel with the team for Tuesday's play-in tournament game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Gobert punched Anderson after a verbal dispute broke out during a timeout. The incident was captured live on video.

Gobert was sent home after the incident, which was captured live on video.

"Emotions got the best of me today," Gobert said in a tweet after the game. "I should not have reacted the way i did regardless of what was said. I wanna apologize to the fans, the organisation and particularly to Kyle, who is someone that i truly love and respect as a teammate."

Despite the disruption, the Timberwolves defeated the Pelicans Sunday. They can make the playoffs by winning in the play-in tournament.
