Giving Tuesday is a global initiative that brings people together to harness the potential of collective generosity. Fortunately for folks in the Minnetonka area, there’s no shortage of organizations nearby that could greatly benefit from your support.

Here are five outstanding organizations in the Minnetonka area. Please consider volunteering or donating to them for Giving Tuesday and beyond.


  1. IOCP — IOCP provides essential services and resources to those in need, including food support, housing assistance and employment services. They aim to strengthen the community and empower individuals and families. Learn more at iocp.org.
  2. Mount Olivet Rolling Acres — Located 15 minutes from Minnetonka, this organization is dedicated to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They provide housing, vocational opportunities and personalized care to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities. Learn more at mtolivetrollingacres.org.
  3. Keys for Kids — This nonprofit is driven by dedicated volunteers with a mission to inspire youth to get involved in their communities by recycling keys. Over the years, Keys for Kids has collected, sorted and recycled 5,240 pounds of unwanted keys and fobs, generously donated by individuals, businesses, organizations, youth groups and schools across the United States, Canada and Australia.   4. The Masinga Foundation — This Minnetonka-based foundation’s mission is to empower the future leaders of the Democratic Republic of Congo to combat torture, human rights violations and systemic economic injustices. The foundation envisions a future where all young Congolese individuals, particularly from impoverished backgrounds, have the chance to receive a quality education and access well-paying job opportunities.   5. ICA (Intercongregation Communities Association) — ICA originated in 1971 when five local churches in Hopkins and Minnetonka came together to address community needs. Initially focusing on providing food and clothing from a downtown Hopkins house, it later evolved into "ICA Food Shelf." Their mission expanded, and in 2007, ICA established a facility to better serve the community, which included a choice-based food shelf model for individuals to select their groceries.
