Here are the top three stories today in Rochester-Mason City:

  1. Thoung Duong Duy Nguyen of Rochester was charged last Friday in relation to a raid of his home, where several different drugs were seized and gun ammunition was found. Nguyen was found out after he made a social media post related to selling drugs. A Rochester investigator responded to the post "attempting" to purchase from him, and once Nguyen allegedly agreed to sell him a bottle of codeine, a search warrant was granted. During the bust, police seized about two and a half pounds of liquid cocaine, along with several other items found in his home. Nguyen has been ordered to Olmsted County Court for an initial hearing that will be held on May 24. (kdhlradio.com)
  2. A tentative plea deal has been accepted by an Olmsted County man who was shot at while fleeing from officers in an incident back in December. According to the Olmsted County Court, Jesse Johnson has pled guilty to a second-degree assault charge with the dismissal of two other charges from last June. Johnson was arrested in Iowa in February and is currently being held in the Olmsted County Jail. (kdhlradio.com)
  3. One of the oldest acapella groups in the nation is making its way to Rochester tonight to perform at Mount Olive Lutheran Church at 7:30 p.m. The Spizzwinks are coming to town as part of "Spring into Fun Week" as Adam McPhail is returning home with the group to bring a performance the community will not soon forget. The Spizzwinks have been traveling and performing around the country since 1914. McPhail, a Mayo High School graduate, says he is honored to be performing with such an iconic group in his hometown. Tickets are on sale for the show at the door. (KIMT 3)
