Pursuant to Minnesota Rules 4410.3610, the City of Shakopee is conducting an Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) in the southern part of the city. The area is approximately 435 acres and located south of Valley View Road and west of Mystic Lake Drive.

The AUAR is a planning-level environmental review process to determine environmental impacts of anticipated development, infrastructure, and public realm needs associated with transitioning the land within the study area from mainly agriculture to residential development. This change in land use is consistent with the City of Shakopee’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan.

The draft and final AUAR and accompanying appendices are available in PDF form here:

These documents will be published in the EQB Monitor on Feb. 8, 2022 for a 10-day objection period. The Shakopee City Council intends to approve the AUAR on March 1.
