MINNEAPOLIS — An 11-year-old girl from Minneapolis drowned in Lake Nokomis over Labor Day weekend, authorities said.

The body of Jocelyn Sanchez-Rosas was pulled from the lake by emergency responders but declared deceased at the scene just after 9 p.m. on Saturday.

She died from freshwater drowning, and the manner of death was ruled an accident, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

"Joselyn earn her angel wings on September 2nd as she tragically drowned while she was swimming with her family at Lake Nokomis," a GoFundMe page started for her states.
