2 Deadly South Minneapolis Shootings May Be Related: Police

Two men are dead and a woman is seriously injured after shootings that took place on Colfax Avenue and Bryan Avenue.

MINNEAPOLIS — Police are investigating whether two separate fatal shootings that happened in south Minneapolis Wednesday night are related. No arrests were made in either shooting.

On Feb. 15 just after 11:30 p.m., officers from the fifth precinct responded to the report of shots fired on the 2800 block of Colfax Avenue South. At the scene, police found a man and woman sitting in a car, both with gunshot wounds.

The man died at the scene, while the woman was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center.

About 10 minutes later, officers were dispatched to a building on the 2800 block of Bryant Avenue South on the report of a man in his late 20s shot in the hallway of an apartment building. He died at the scene despite lifesaving measures, police said.

Investigators secured and canvassed the area.
