ACROSS MINNESOTA — Minnesota families reduced credit card debt by record amounts in 2020. However, credit card debt is once again on the rise, both in Minnesota and across the nation.

In the United States, credit card debt increased by more than $45 billion during the second quarter of 2021, according to a new study from WalletHub.

In Minnesota, credit card debt increased by an average of $331 during the second quarter of 2021. The average Minnesota household has $7,193 in credit card debt, according to WalletHub.
