This census, often referred to as the Point In Time Count is required by the U .S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and is essential not only to maintain current levels of funding for unhoused programs, but also to secure future housing opportunities and services for the region.

Shelter will be offered to unhoused people encountered during the count. Those who do not wish to be transported to shelter will be given resource information.

In past years, volunteers have canvassed the community. Due to the added health and safety precautions implemented due to the pandemic, St. Louis County Police Officers will conduct the count in lieu of community volunteers.
