  • Helena is home to one of the few working hand-carved carousels in the United States. The Great Northern Carousel is a whimsical attraction that delights visitors of all ages with its handcrafted animals and unique Montana-themed chariots.
  • The city's surrounding landscape is a hiker's paradise, featuring over 75 miles of trails that begin right at the edge of town. From the challenging Mount Helena Ridge Trail to the leisurely Waterline Trail, there's a path for every skill level and interest, offering breathtaking views and encounters with local wildlife.
  • The Montana State Capitol building, located in Helena, features a stunning display of local art and history. Inside, you can find Charles M. Russell's famous painting "Lewis and Clark Meeting the Flathead Indians at Ross' Hole," a vivid homage to Montana's exploratory and Native American heritage.
  • Helena was once the home of Myrna Loy, one of Hollywood's most celebrated actresses of the 1930s and 1940s. Born in Helena, Loy's legacy is honored at The Myrna Loy, which showcases independent films, live performances and visual arts.
