Emergency NJ Turnpike Repairs, Bridge Delays: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Wednesday, June 8, 2022:

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 7:07 a.m., there's a crash on US 22 eastbound east of Weequahic Park in Newark. 1 right lane closed.

As of 7:05 a.m., there's a crash on I-80 westbound Exit 54 - Minnisink Road in Totowa. 2 left lanes closed.

As of 6:17 a.m., there are delays on the New Jersey Turnpike - Eastern Spur outside exit Interchange 16E - NJ 3/Lincoln Tunnel in Secaucus.

As of 6:12 a.m., there are delays on the George Washington Bridge lower and upper levels eastbound New Jersey side in Fort Lee. All lanes open. The travel time is 15 minutes on I-95 from I-80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

As of 5:56 a.m., there are delays at the Lincoln Tunnel center tunnel eastbound New Jersey side - Toll Plaza in Weehawken. All lanes open. The travel time to the New York side is 20 minutes from New Jersey Turnpike Exit 16E to the New York side.

Central Jersey

As of 7:20 a.m., there's a crash on US 1 southbound ramp to NJ 18 in New Brunswick. 1 right lane closed.

As of 6:06 a.m., there's emergency maintenance on the New Jersey Turnpike outside exit to Cranbury South River Road and Route 130 from Interchange 8A in South Brunswick. 1 left lane closed to traffic until further notice.

South Jersey

As of 7:08 a.m., there's a crash and overturned vehicle on the Garden State Parkway southbound south of Exit 40 - US 30/White Horse Pike in Egg Harbor. Left shoulder blocked.

As of 4:11 a.m., there’s construction on NJ 70 eastbound from NJ 38 in Pennsauken to I-295 in Cherry Hill. All lanes shift until 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 31, 2023.

Transit Updates

All NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

Mandatory Hack River Bridge lifts are scheduled today between 10 and 10:30 a.m., as well as 2 to 2:30 p.m. There are possible NWK-WTC PATH train impacts in both directions.

NJ Weather

Expect highs in the mid-80s and heavy showers or thunderstorms tonight. Some storms could produce damaging winds and isolated flash flooding, with the highest threat near and south of the I-95 corridor.
