Flooding, Tractor Trailer Fire On NJ Turnpike: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Thursday, June 2, 2022:

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 7:34 a.m., there's a fluid spill on NJ 27 southbound south of CR 613/Westfield Avenue/West Grand Avenue in Rahway. 1 right lane closed.

As of 6:39 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway southbound Exit 140 - US 22/NJ 82 in Union Township. 1 left lane blocked.

As of 1:45 a.m., there's flooding on US 22 eastbound west of Vaux Hall Road in Union Township. 1 right lane closed.

As of 12:27 a.m., there's flooding on NJ 17 southbound south of Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus. 1 left lane closed.

Central Jersey

As of 7:27 a.m., there's a debris spill and an overturned tractor trailer on I-195 eastbound east of Exit 3 - Hamilton Square-Yardville Road in Hamilton Township. All lanes closed.

As of 6:05 a.m., there's an overturned tractor trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike outer roadway southbound entrance ramp Interchange 10 - NJ 440/I-287 in Edison. All lanes blocked.

South Jersey

As of 6:13 a.m., there's a tractor trailer fire on the New Jersey Turnpike outer roadway southbound north of Interchange 7 - US 206 in Bordentown. 1 right lane and shoulder blocked.

Transit Updates

Montclair-Boonton train #6209, the 5:54 a.m. departure from Penn Station New York is currently delayed due to mechanical issues.

Morris & Essex train #408, the 6:14 a.m. departure from Gladstone, is cancelled due to mechanical issues.

River Line: The 6:27 a.m. departure from Trenton is cancelled due to mechanical issues.

River Line: the 6:57 a.m. departure from Trenton is cancelled due to a mechanical issue.

All other NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

NJ Weather

Expect possible showers, heavy rain and severe thunderstorms this afternoon through this evening, according to the National Weather Service. There's also a risk for some large hail.
