Forest Fire, Sinkhole, Commuting Delays In NJ: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Monday, June 20, 2022:

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 8:39 a.m., there are delays on the Garden State Parkway northbound from north of Exit 148 - John F. Kennedy Dr. north to Exit 150 - Hoover Avenue in Bloomfield.

As of 7:32 a.m., there are delays on US 1&9/Tonnelle Avenue southbound approaching Manhattan Avenue in Jersey City.

As of 7:31 a.m., there are delays on N J21 southbound ramp to eastbound Exit 9 - NJ 3 in Clifton.

As of 5:43 a.m., there are delays on NJ 139 Lower eastbound from NJ 139 Upper Roadway Exit/Entrance to Jersey Avenue in Jersey City. All lanes open.

As of 5 a.m., there's construction on NJ 15 in both directions between I-80 in Rockaway Township and CR 634/N. Main Street in Wharton. 1 left lane closed for repairs until 1 p.m.

Central Jersey

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on US 9 southbound south of CR 520/Robertsville Road in Marlboro Township. Right shoulder closed until 3 p.m.

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on I-287 northbound north of Exit 13 - NJ 28 in Bridgewater Township. Right shoulder closed until 3 p.m.

As of 6:48 a.m., there's a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike outer roadway southbound south of Interchange 7A - I-195 in Hamilton Township. 1 left lane blocked.

As of 9:01 p.m. on Sunday, there's a sinkhole on I-287 local lanes northbound ramp to eastbound Exit 21 - I-78 in Bedminster Township. All lanes closed and detoured; Exit 21A is closed.

South Jersey

As of 7:33 a.m., there are delays on NJ 55 northbound between Exit 58 - Deptford Center Road and south of NJ 42 in Deptford.

As of 4:44 a.m., there's fire department activity and a forest fire on US 206 in both directions between CR 613/Aston Road and CR 536/Chews Road in Hammonton. All lanes closed and detoured.

Transit Updates

NJ Transit Morris & Essex train #852, the 6:07 a.m. from Mount Olive is cancelled due to crew availability. Please take train #872, the 6:42 a.m. from Hackettstown.

NJ Transit North Jersey Coast train #3503, the 5:47 a.m. departure from Penn Station New York, is cancelled due to equipment availability. Please take train #3217, the 6:20 a.m. departure from Penn Station New York.

NJ Transit Raritan Valley train #2406, the 5:07 a.m. departure from Raritan, is up to 15 minutes late due to earlier mechanical issues.

All other NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

NJ Weather

Expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 81.
