GSP Crash, Commuting Delays In NJ: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Friday, June 3, 2022:

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 8:10 a.m., there's a crash on I-80 westbound west of Exit 61 - CR 507/River Road in Elmwood Park. 2 right lanes closed.

As of 8:05 a.m., there's a disabled vehicle on the Garden State Parkway southbound north of Exit 141 - Vaux Hall Road in Union Township. All lanes open.

As of 6:07 a.m., there are delays on the George Washington Bridge lower and upper levels eastbound New Jersey side in Fort Lee. All lanes open. The travel time is 20 minutes on I-95 from I-80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

As of 6 a.m., there are delays at the Holland Tunnel south tunnel eastbound New Jersey side - Toll Plaza in Jersey City. All lanes open. The travel time to the New York side is 20 minutes from New Jersey Turnpike Exit 14C and 20 minutes from New Jersey 139 at Tonnelle Circle.

Central Jersey

As of 6:43 a.m., there's a crash with injuries, a downed pole and downed wires on US 202 southbound south of I-287 in Bridgewater. All lanes closed.

As of 5:33 a.m., there's a crash and vehicle spun out on the Garden State Parkway southbound north of Exit 58 - CR 539 in Eagleswood Township. Right shoulder blocked.

South Jersey

As of 7:56 a.m., there's a crash on I-295 northbound north of Exit 43 - CR 838/Creek Road in Mount Laurel Township. Both shoulders closed.

As of 6:21 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway northbound north of New Gretna Toll Plaza in Bass River Township. All lanes open.

As of 4:11 a.m., there’s construction on NJ 70 westbound from Cropwell Road in Evesham Township and CR 673/Springdale Road in Cherry Hill. All lanes shift until 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 3, 2023.

Transit Updates

Main-Bergen County train #1100, the 6:00 a.m. arrival into Hoboken, is up to 20 minutes late due to congestion resulting from earlier police activity near Glen Rock.

North Jersey Coast train #3209, the 6:05 a.m. arrival into Long Branch, will be cancelled at Newark Penn Station due to a mechanical issue.

All other NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

NJ Weather

Expect a slight chance of showers between 11 a.m. and noon and patchy fog in the morning before 10 a.m. Otherwise, Friday will be partly sunny with a high near 81.
