Missing 83-Year-Old, Road Closures In NJ: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Friday, April 29, 2022.

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 8:22 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway northbound south of Exit 163 - NJ 17 in Paramus. 1 left lane blocked.

As of 8:10 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway northbound of the Brookdale Service Area in Bloomfield. 1 left lane blocked.

As of 8:10 a.m., there's a crash on US 1 & 9/Tonnelle Avenue southbound NJ 495/NJ 3 in North Bergen. 1 center lane closed.

As of 7:37 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway northbound north of Exit 153A - NJ 3 in Clifton.

As of 7:26 a.m., there's a crash on I-78 local lanes westbound west of Exit 56 - Elizabeth Avenue in Newark. 1 left lane closed.

As of 7:26 a.m., there's a disabled truck on the George Washington Bridge upper level eastbound Mid-Span in Fort Lee. 1 left lane blocked.

As of 7:11 a.m., there's a crash on NJ 3 westbound NJ 495 in North Bergen. 1 left lane closed.

As of 6:56 a.m., there's a disabled tractor trailer on I-280 eastbound west of Exit 14W - Clifton Avenue in Newark. 1 right lane closed.

As of 6:56 a.m., there are delays at the Lincoln Tunnel south tunnel eastbound New Jersey side - Toll Plaza in Weehawken. All lanes open.

As of 6:55 a.m., there are delays on I-280 westbound from Exit 15 - NJ 21 to Exit 14E - King Street in Newark.

As of 6:48 a.m., there are delays on NJ 21 northbound from north of Exit 13 - Ackerman Avenue to Exit 14 - US 46 in Clifton.

As of 6:47 a.m., there are delays on I-280 eastbound from east of Exit 12 - Garden State Parkway in East Orange to Exit 13 - Orange Street/1st Street in Newark.

As of 6:29 a.m., there are delays on the George Washington Bridge upper level eastbound New Jersey side in Fort Lee. All lanes open. The travel time is 25 minutes on I-95 from I-80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

As of 6:25 a.m., there are delays at the Holland Tunnel south tunnel eastbound New Jersey side - Toll Plaza in Jersey City. The travel time to the New York side is 20 minutes from New Jersey Turnpike Exit 14C and 20 minutes from New Jersey 139 at Tonnelle Circle.

As of 5:51 a.m., there are delays on NJ 139 Lower eastbound from NJ 139 Upper Roadway Exit/Entrance to Jersey Avenue in Jersey City.

As of midnight, there's a silver alert on NJ 17 in both directions near Linwood Avenue in Ridgewood. A disoriented person is missing, according to New Jersey State Police. This person was last seen driving a vehicle matching this description: "2003 green Ford Ranger New Jersey license plate PKK19E. This person is described as a white male, 83, and appears confused or mentally unstable. Please call 911." 7:29 a.m. update: the man has been located.

Central Jersey

As of 7:10 a.m., there's a disabled vehicle on the Garden State Parkway southbound of Exit 127 - US 9/I-287/NJ 440 in Woodbridge. 1 right lane blocked.

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on US 9 in both directions from south of CR 614/Lacey Road in Lacey to south of NJ 166 in Beachwood. Right shoulder closed intermittently until 5 p.m.

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on NJ 37 in both directions from east of NJ 166 to CR 549 Spur/CR 751/Fisher Boulevard in Toms River. Right shoulder closed until 5 p.m.

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on US 9 southbound from south of Gordons Corner Road in Manalapan to Craig Road in Freehold. 1 left lane and shoulder closed until 3:30 p.m.

As of 6 a.m., there's construction on I-295 in both directions from Exit 73 - Scotch Road in Hopewell to Delaware River/Scudder Falls Bridge in Ewing. 1 right lane closed until 4 p.m.

As of 5:41 a.m., there's roadwork on the Garden State Parkway inner roadway southbound in the vicinity of Exit 109 - CR 520 in Middletown. 1 left lane closed.

As of 12:10 a.m., there's construction on NJ 175 northbound from West Upper Ferry Road to NJ 29 in Ewing. All lanes closed and detoured until further notice.

As of 12:09 a.m., there's construction on NJ 33 in both directions between Rt. 79 in Freehold and CR 55 in Freehold Township. All lanes closed and detoured until April 30.

South Jersey

As of 7:53 a.m., there are delays on I-76 eastbound between Exit 1A - NJ 42/I-295 in Bellmawr and Walt Whitman Bridge in Gloucester City.

As of 7:40 a.m., there are delays on I-295 northbound from south of Exit 29 - US 30 in Barrington to south of Exit 34 - NJ 70 in Cherry Hill.

As of 7:39 a.m., there are delays on NJ 42 northbound from Exit 10A - NJ 168/Black Horse Pike in Gloucester Township to I-295 in Bellmawr.

As of 7:38 a.m., there are delays on NJ 55 northbound south of NJ 42 in Deptford.

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on NJ 45 southbound US 322/Mulica Hill Road in Harrison. All lanes closed and detoured until 3:30 p.m.

As of 5:54 a.m., there's construction on NJ 73 in both directions between north of CR 708/Gibbsboro Road in Berlin and CR 685 in Evesham Township. 1 right lane closed until 6:30 a.m.

As of 5:37 a.m., there's a crash on I-295 southbound Exit 26S - NJ 42/I-76/I-676 in Bellmawr. Right shoulder closed.

As of 4:11 a.m., there's construction on NJ 70 in both directions between Cropwell Road in Evesham and CR 673/Springdale Road in Cherry Hill. All lanes shift until July 15.

Transit Updates

North Jersey Coast Line and Northeast Corridor NJ Transit lines are under temporary schedule adjustments are in effect for the next six to eight weeks to accommodate major repair work to the Laurel Avenue Bridge in Holmdel. See here for updated timetables.

UPDATE: North Jersey Coast train #3215, the 7:04 a.m. Long Branch arrival, is operating on or close to schedule following an earlier mechanical issue.

All other NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

NJ Transit bus routes 21, 59 and 29 will not operate today due to operator availability.

NJ Transit bus route 94, the 6:52 a.m. departure from Stuyvesant and Haines Ave in Union to Bloomfield Ave at Municipal Plaza in Bloomfield, will not operate due to operator availability.

NJ Transit bus route 113, the 5:45 a.m. departure from Washington Avenue in Dunellen to Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York, will not operate, due to operator availability.

NJ Transit bus route 114, the 6:05 a.m. departure from Prospect Street in Dunellen to Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York, will not operate, due to operator availability.

Bus route 712, the 7:33 a.m. departure from Saddle Brook to Wayne, will not operate due to operator availability.

NWK-WTC, JSQ-33 via HOB PATH trains delayed. Crew reported a track condition at Grove St.

NJ Weather

Expect sunny skies with a high near 61. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph, per the National Weather Service.
