12 Years For Asbury Park Man Who Sold Cocaine To Undercover Police

ASBURY PARK, NJ — An Asbury Park man was sentenced Monday to 12 years in state prison for selling cocaine to an undercover police officer on four separate occasions.

The man is Tyheim McGhee, of Asbury Park.

The case involved undercover detectives from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Gang Task Force and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force. In February and March 2023, the undercover police officers posed as people wanting to buy cocaine and heroin.

McGhee sold cocaine to undercover officers four different times, said Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago. On March 24, police raided his home on Borden Avenue in Asbury Park and found more than five ounces of cocaine, as well as paraphernalia used in the sale of drugs.

McGhee was previously convicted on charges of first-degree cocaine possession with intent to distribute; distribution of more than half an ounce of cocaine and third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

He pleaded guilty this past November.
