ASBURY PARK, NJ – We’re now into the first full weekend of August, which means that we’re less than a month away from one of the best times of the year, local summer.

Even though the summer of 2021 is starting to reach its end, there’s still lots to do in Monmouth County, and here are some of the things you should check out this weekend.

Enjoy Some Yacht Rock On The Stone Pony Summerstage
If you are a fan of the Pina Colada song or all things Michael McDonald, then you’ll love Yacht Rock Review, who will be playing all of the yacht rock hits on the Stone Pony Summer Stage on Aug. 7 at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online.

Get Your Wiffle Ball On At Manasquan’s Big Sea Day
If you enjoy playing some Wiffle ball in the sand, then the Beach Smash tournament on Sept. 7 is for you. Prizes are available for the winner in each division, and for more information on the tournament, you can head over to the tournament’s website.

Check Out Some Dinosaurs From The Comfort Of Your Car
The Dino Safari at Freehold Raceway Mall has been extended to Sept. 6. Over 40 dinosaurs are part of the exhibit, and tickets can be purchased at their website.

Head over to Monmouth Park this Saturday, Sept. 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a day at the races, and the first 2,000 fans get a free t-shirt from Pepsi.

Check Out Some Smocking At Longstreet Farms
Learn about the lost art of smocking, a decorative embroidery or shirring made by turning cloth into regularly spaced round tucks, during a free demonstration from 1 to 3 p.m. at Longstreet Farms in Holmdel.
