ASBURY PARK, NJ - A family of six was displaced from a home on the 400 block of Prospect Avenue in Asbury Park Wednesday morning following a residential fire, authorities said.

The fire was reported shortly after midnight on Wednesday, according to the Wanamassa Fire Company, which assisted at the scene.

Photos posted to Facebook from the scene depict smoke emerging from the top floor of a multi-story home on Prospect Avenue.

“Great job by Asbury Park Fire Department quickly knocking down the fire, limiting damage to the building,” the Wanamassa Fire Company said in a statement.

No injuries were reported in posts by Asbury Park or Wanamassa fire officials.

The New Jersey Red Cross was able to provide emergency assistance for the affected family, including temporary lodging, food and clothing, the agency said.
