Asbury Park Man Sold Cocaine To Undercover Officer 4 Times, Police Say

ASBURY PARK, NJ — An Asbury Park man pleaded guilty to selling cocaine to an undercover police officer multiple times, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago announced Thursday.

Tyheim McGhee, 28, of Asbury Park, pleaded guilty Nov. 6 to distribution of over half an ounce of cocaine, and possession of over five ounces of cocaine with intent to distribute.

As a result of his plea, McGhee faces 12 years in state prison when he is sentenced on January 26.

This was the result of an investigation done in February and March of 2023 involving detectives from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Gang Task Force, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force. During the investigation, McGhee sold a total of over half an ounce of cocaine to an undercover officer on four separate occasions.

Police executed a search warrant on McGhee’s Borden Avenue home in Asbury Park on March 24, 2023. During the search, police recovered more than five ounces of cocaine as well as paraphernalia used in the distribution of narcotics.
