Asbury Park Music Mondays Line-Up For Rest Of July, August

ASBURY PARK, NJ — The Asbury Park Music Foundation has announced the schedule for their August "Music Mondays" show dates.

The music and parking are free.

Music Mondays are held at Springwood Park just two blocks west of the Asbury Park train station. All shows begin with a half hour opening performance beginning at 6 p.m. Headliners take the stage at 6:45 p.m. There is free parking surrounding the park but is also easily accessible by bike or walking. This is a park so bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating or your dancing shoes!

July 25 Headliner: Gentlemen of Soul Opening Act: Asbury’s Got Talent

August 1 Headliner: TBA Opening Act: Asbury’s Got Talent

August 9 Headliner Al Covington Opening Act: Ms G & Da Guyz

August 15 Headliner: Waiting on Mongo Opening Act: Ocean Avenue Stompers

August 22 Headliner: Funktion Opening act: Lakehouse Band

August 30 (Tuesday) Headliner: Sensational Soul Cruisers NO OPENING ACT

AP Live on the Asbury Park boardwalk also returns, with free music on Wednesday nights right next to MOGO. Lakehouse Academy bands, some of which feature APMF scholarship students, will open the show each week followed by local artists of all genres.

Finally, the Asbury Park Concert Band will perform every Thursday evening in July and August at 7:00 PM in Bradley Park, across from Convention Hall. Now in its 77th season, the band offers varied musical selections from marches, classical, jazz, dixieland, opera and big band to Broadway. These shows provide students from middle to high school age a chance to fine tune their skills and experience performing in a professional setting.
