ASBURY PARK, NJ – The Asbury Lanes Diner will be reopening on Aug. 1, offering a reimagined menu with local, sustainable, and organic ingredients that invite visitors and locals alike to enjoy comforting, delicious diner classics alongside some of the best milkshakes found on the shore from Executive Chef Michael Dunston, who also oversees the culinary programming at Asbury Ocean Club and The Asbury Hotel.

Located on 4th Avenue, a block-and-a-half from the beach, the Diner first opened in 2019, serving hungry bowlers, ravenous music fans, and anyone seeking out a high-quality diner experience.

“Eating a delicious meal at a diner, whether for breakfast, late-night, or any time in-between has always been an important pastime in New Jersey,” Chef Dunston said in a statement. “We see the reopening of Asbury Lanes Diner as an opportunity to honor the tried-and-true diner classics we grew up with through a celebration of local ingredients and modern cooking techniques.”

The Diner’s signature dishes are sure to satisfy diners at any time of day. Early birds will enjoy the B.E.C., a grilled egg and cheese sandwich on a Kaiser roll with local, hand-cut bacon, Haddock and Chips, and Classic Lanes Tots.

Chef Dunston’s menu spotlights fresh ingredients sourced from local suppliers, including Local 130 Seafood of Asbury Park and Vrola, a supplier of specialty meat blends in South Amboy.

No visit is complete without a Boozy Milkshake, a unique offering that can only be found at the Asbury Lanes Diner. Developed by the endlessly creative Morgan Dickerson, Complex Director of Food & Beverage at Sage Hospitality Group, the shake offerings include ‘Bananas For You,’ ‘Have S’more,’ ‘Death by Chocolate,’ and ‘Key Lime Pie,’ as well as seasonal and holiday-themed specialties such as ‘Strawberry-Elderflower’ in the summertime.

The décor of the Asbury Lanes Diner still sets a scene as inspired as the menu with retro booths and banquette seating standing out while hanging lamps light up white tabletops and black-and-white tile flooring, recalling 60s-era malt shops.

Vintage concert posters saved from the original Asbury Lanes pay homage to its place in history as a legendary rock and roll venue, alongside The Stone Pony and the Saint.
