Free CKO Boxing Class Offered Sept. 3 By City Of Asbury Park

There will be a free class Sept. 3 in Springwood Park; Asbury Park CrossFit Oct. 1 at the library and a spin class Nov. 5 at Wesley Lake:

ASBURY PARK, NJ — All Asbury Park residents are invited to join the Mayor's Wellness Challenge at 10 a.m. Sept. 3 in Springwood Park.

These are a series of free, one-hour fitness challenges will take place on the first Saturday of each month at various parks and open spaces throughout Asbury Park through December.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 in Springwood Park it will be Boxing Basics with Alyssa Barlett from CKO Kickboxing.

These will be a 50-minute class taught by local Asbury Park fitness instructors, followed by a 10-minute nutrition session with recipes and nutrition advice.

Attendees can earn participation prizes and trainers will provide participants with a monthly calendar for at-home fitness activities.

Each event will also include parallel youth programing through a partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Asbury Park.

In addition, Hackensack Meridian Health will be hosting a mobile health screening van at several of the events.

The rain location for all events is the Boys & Girls Club of Asbury Park located at 1201 Monroe Avenue in Asbury Park. Participants of all ages are welcome to join!
