Atlantic City Electric Announces Bill Reductions Starting in July

The company announced bills will see a 2.6 percent price reduction starting next month.

Atlantic City Electric users will see reduced charges on their electric bills in July.

That’s because the state Board of Public Utilities has allowed the electric company to reduce charges like the societal benefits charge, which had contributed to state energy assistance and renewable programs.

Electric bills will drop by 2.6 percent, the Asbury Park Press reports, meaning residential customers using 1,000 kilowatts per month will see $4.55 in savings, or $165.79 instead of $170.34.

According to the APP, Atlantic City serves 547,000 customers in Ocean County, consisting of Barnegat Light, Beach Haven, Eagleswood, Harvey Cedars, Little Egg Harbor, Long Beach Township, Ship Bottom, Stafford, Surf City and Tuckerton and parts of Barnegat, Lacey and Waretown.
