Crash Takes Down Pole, Closes Berkeley's Bayview Ave.

Officials closed the street between Veeder Avenue and Sloop Creek as they replace the pole.

BERKELEY, NJ — A driver crashed into and took down a pole Wednesday morning on Bayview Avenue and Sloop Creek. Bayview Avenue remains closed in the area as officials replace the pole, Lieutenant Ryan Roth told Patch at 10 a.m.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office reported the crash at 7:34 a.m. Wednesday. Officials closed off Bayview Avenue between Veeder Avenue and Sloop Creek until further notice.

No injuries or summonses were reported. The accident only involved one vehicle. The driver told police somebody cut him off, according to Roth.
