SOUTHERN OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — Flash flooding is causing vehicles to get stuck in roadways and delays, according to the Ocean County Sheriff's Office.

Vehicles were stuck on roads in parts of Southern Ocean County early Monday morning, the Sheriff's Office said.

Long Beach Island is experiencing delays due to flooding, the Sheriff's Office said. When you see a flooded road, turn around, Ship Bottom police said. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles, police said.

The flash flood warning will last until 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. As of 9:13 a.m., two to four inches of rain have already fallen, the NWS said. Additional rainfall rates of up to one inch are possible, the NWS said.
