Brick Dragons Vs. Freehold Colonials NJSIAA Football

BRICK, NJ — The Freehold Borough Colonials take on the Brick Township Green Dragons Friday night at Keller Memorial Stadium in the semifinals of the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 4 football playoffs.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Freehold takes a 7-0 lead at 9:09 in the forst quarter. The Colonials recovered a fumble then scored three plays later on a 1-yard run.

With 2:43 left in the first quarter, Brick ties the game on a run from the half-yard line. PAT good. 7-7

8:53 to go in the 2nd, Brick takes the lead on a 43-yard touchdown run down the home sideline. PAT good. Brick 14-7.

3:59 to halftime. Freehold ties the game on a 30-yard pass for a touchdown as the QB scrambles out of pressure.. 14-14.

Freehold intercepts a pass on the goal-line in the closing seconds to keep the score tied at 14 going to halftime.

Freehold runs the second-half kickoff back 80 yards for a touchdown. Freehold 21-14.

With 5:28 to go in the third quarter, Freehold scores from 38 yards out on 4th-and-14. Freehold 28-14.

5:58 to go in the game. Worthy scores breaking through the line on a 25-yard run. Kick is good. Freehold 35-14.

Brick quareterback Jim Leblo scored two touchdowns in the last quarter but Freehold recovered the onside kick to end the game.
