Brick Elks Holding Hoop Shoot, Soccer Shoot Saturday
The lodge-level contests are free and children have an opportunity to win scholarship money at the highest level.
BRICK, NJ — The Brick Elks Lodge 2151 is holding its Hoop Shoot free throw shooting contest and its Soccer Shoot contest this Saturday, Oct. 21, at Veterans Memorial Middle School.
The contests are free and open to township children.
The Hoop Shoot is for children ages 8 to 13 years old, while the Soccer Shoot quadrant shooting contest is for 5-year-olds through 13-year-olds.

The winners at each age level in each contest advance to district competitions with the opportunity to advance even further, with the potential of winning college scholarship money.
Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday. The basketball contest is expected to get under way about 9 a.m. in the main gym, and the soccer contest at 9:30 a.m. in the all-purpose room.

Veterans Memorial Middle School is at 105 Hendrickson Ave., off Van Zile Road.
