Brick Gets A Shout-Out As Football Town USA During Giants-Cowboys Game

The award presented last week by Giants receiver Victor Cruz included a trip to the game for Dragons players and coaches.

BRICK, NJ — Football fans who were watching the New York Giants-Dallas Cowboys game Sunday night were treated to a brief glimpse of Brick Township football during the third quarter.

Brick Township was named "Football Town USA" last week, winners of a contest sponsored by USA Football, Chase, and the Giants, and the good news was delivered by a special courier, Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz, on Monday.

In addition to bragging rights, the prize included $5,000 in equipment for the team and a trip to Sunday's Giants-Cowboys game for Brick Dragons' head coach Len Zdanowicz Jr. and 18 seniors on the Dragons football team.

The team was honored on the field during the game, and in the third quarter, the game's viewers were treated to about 15 seconds of video showing Cruz's visit to Brick High School, including some of the memorabilia in the trophy case and Cruz shaking hands and talking with some of the players, as Al Michaels spoke about the Football Town USA award.

Zdanowicz posted a thank you on Facebook to all who voted for Brick in the Football Town USA contest:
