BRICK, NJ — Summer is almost over for Brick Township students. The first day of school in the Brick Township School District is Thursday, Sept. 5.

If you are new to Brick and need to register your children for school, details on the requirements are available on the district's website.

High school freshman orientation is set for Aug. 27 at Brick Township and Brick Memorial. Sixth-grade orientation at Veterans Memorial and Lake Riviera middle schools is Aug. 28, and kindergarten orientation is set for Sept. 3 and 4. Information on orientation times for each school is posted online.

Back-to-school nights are scheduled as well. The schedule is available online.

The district does not have any days built in for emergency closures. If schools must be closed, needed days will be added to the end of the school year.

Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

  • Start date: Thursday, Sept. 5
  • Rosh Hashanah, no school: Thursday, Oct. 3
  • Columbus Day, no school for students: Monday, Oct. 14
  • Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 5
  • NJEA Convention, no school: Thursday, Nov. 7-Friday, Nov. 8
  • Parent-Teacher conferences, half-days: Wednesday, Nov. 20-Friday, Nov. 22
  • Thanksgiving break: Half-day, Wednesday, Nov. 27; no school, Thursday, Nov. 28-Friday, Nov. 29.
  • Winter break: Half-day Friday, Dec. 20; no school, Monday, Dec. 23-Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2024
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school: Monday, Jan. 20
  • Early dismissal days: Wednesday, Jan. 29, Thursday, Jan. 30, high school students only; Friday, Jan. 31, all students.
  • Presidents Day, no school: Friday, Feb. 14-Monday, Feb. 17
  • Early dismissal: Wednesday, March 5
  • Spring break: Half-day Thursday, April 17; no school Friday, April 18-Sunday, April 27
  • Memorial Day: Monday, May 26
  • Last day for seniors: Tuesday, June 17
  • High school graduations: Tuesday, June 17
