Brick's Pallante Earns Defensive Player Of The Week Honors

The former Brick High School goalkeeper was honored by both the ECAC and the New Jersey Athletic Conference.

BRICK, NJ — A Brick Township High School graduate has received two honors this week for her athletic performances at Stockton University.

Nicole Pallante, a sophomore goalkeeper, was named East Coast Athletic Conference Metro Defensive Player of the Week and New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Pallante went 2-0-1 with a 0.31 goals against average in three starts for the women's soccer team. She made six saves in a 2-1 win over Wilkes University on Oct. 4 and followed with four stops apiece in back-to-back shutouts of Rutgers-Newark (3-0 win) and Staten Island (0-0 tie) over the weekend.

The ECAC chooses its weekly honorees from conference award winners in various leagues throughout the Metro Region. Pallante leads the NJAC in minutes played (1,255) and is tied for second in shutouts (6). Stockton is 9-3-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play.

Pallante received several honors last year as a freshman, including being named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year and NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year.
