Dragons, Mustangs Unite For Chuck-A-Puck To Help Brick Student

Breaking: The fundraiser will be held Sunday as Brick and Brick Memorial face off in ice hockey at Ocean Ice Palace.

BRICK, NJ — The Brick and Brick Memorial ice hockey teams will face off Sunday evening, one of the annual meetings between the two schools.

And while there will be the usual rivalry between the teams, there also will be a unity of purpose, as the game also includes a fundraiser for Jacob Basilotto, the Brick Township High School sophomore who is in need of a heart transplant.

The fundraiser is called "Chuck a Puck for Jacob," and pucks can be purchased at one puck for $2 or two pucks for $3, with all proceeds going to help the Basilotto family.

Basilotto has a congenital heart defect and was on the list for a heart transplant, but had to come off the list recently due to a change in his condition. He is being treated at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia so he can become healthy enough to get back on the transplant list.

The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Ocean Ice Palace on Chambersbridge Road.

The boys and girls basketball teams raised funds for Basilotto via their annual Free Throws for a Cure campaign.
