SummerFest Concert, National Night Out, Drive-In Movie In Brick

Windward Beach Park will be busy all week with events and there's a concert at Trader's Cove, too.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township has community events scheduled nearly all week next week, so if you're looking to have an evening out with low impact on your wallet, check out what's happening.

The week begins with the makeup date on Monday, Aug. 5, for the Brian Kirk & the Jirks SummerFest concert at Windward Beach Park. The concert was rescheduled from July 11 when thunderstorms disrupted the week. The concert begins at 6 p.m. and is scheduled to be followed by fireworks. Shuttle buses will be available from Midstreams Elementary School, Veterans Memorial Middle School, Drum Point Elementary School and Brick Township High School.

On Tuesday, Windward Beach Park will be the site for the annual National Night Out community gathering. There will be police and emergency responder displays, activities for the kids and fun for the family. It begins at 6 p.m.

Wednesday the entertainment shifts to Traders Cove, where there will be a concert by the Basso Brothers kicking off the Traders Cove Concert Series. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and the township is offering shuttle service for senior citizen residents on a first-come, first-served basis.

Seniors attending the concerts by bus will be provided chairs in a designated location. Any eligible resident wishing to schedule a ride to the Traders Cove Concert Series should call Senior Services at 732-920-8686.

After a break in the week's events on Thursday, the township Recreation Department will host a SummerFest Drive-In Movie at Windward Beach Park on Friday. The movie, "The Greatest Showman," begins at dusk.
