SummerFest A Go Tonight, Brick Officials Say

Drink plenty of water before, during and after the event to cope with the heat, officials urge.

Brick, NJ -- Brick Township residents and fans coming out to see the Amish Outlaws at SummerFest Thursday night are reminded to stay hydrated, township officials said.

The summer concert series at Windward Beach Park on Princeton Avenue is on, officials said.

In addition to the Amish Outlaws, the evening is scheduled to include fireworks.

"It is going to be hot so we want to remind everyone to stay hydrated," township officials said in an announcement on Facebook. "There will be some misting stations to help keep everyone cool. A food court vendor will help by providing a beverage-only line."

Temperatures, which have hit a high of 90 degrees this afternoon, are only expected to cool slightly by evening. The National Weather Service forecast says there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly before 9 p.m.
