CALDWELLS, NJ — New Jersey voters cast ballots in races across the state on Tuesday, including local races in Caldwell, North Caldwell and West Caldwell. Polling places closed at 8 p.m.

CALDWELL

Caldwell voters got to cast ballots for two open seats on the borough council. Each term lasts for three years.

The Republican Party candidates were Nicholas Correale and Matthew Giermanski. The Democratic Party candidates were Vivian Rodeffer and Kenneth Jurgensen.

With 100 percent of districts reported, Correale and Giermanski were in the lead after a close race. Here are the uncertified results as per the Essex County Clerk's Office (two open seats):

  • Nicholas Correale – 853 votes (25.62%)
  • Matthew Giermanski – 858 votes (25.77%)
  • Vivian Rodeffer – 798 votes (23.97%)
  • Kenneth Jurgensen – 820 votes (24.63%)

Caldwell residents also got to vote for an open seat on the Caldwell-West Caldwell Board of Education. The candidates were Marisa Landolfi-Jefferson and John King. School board members are non-partisan and unpaid.

With 100 percent of districts reported, Landolfi-Jefferson has apparently emerged victorious. Here are the uncertified results as per the Essex County Clerk's Office (one open seat):

  • Marisa Landolfi-Jefferson – 1,740 votes (57.56%)
  • John King – 1,283 votes (42.44%)

NORTH CALDWELL

North Caldwell voters got to cast ballots for two open seats on the borough council. Both Democratic Party candidates ran unopposed: Matthew Atlas and Anthony Floria-Callori.

Residents also voted to fill an unexpired term on the council. Kenneth Tilton (Republican) ran unopposed.

North Caldwell voters also cast ballots for two open seats on the North Caldwell Board of Education. Both candidates ran unopposed: David Ved and Sapna Patel Malige.

WEST CALDWELL

West Caldwell voters got to cast ballots for two open seats on the township council. The two Republican Party candidates ran unopposed: Michael Doctoroff and Kathy Canale.

West Caldwell residents also got to vote for an open seat on the Caldwell-West Caldwell Board of Education. The candidates were Marisa Landolfi-Jefferson and John King (see results above).
