WEST CALDWELL, NJ — After a fire destroyed a home in West Caldwell on Mother's Day, friends are raising funds through a GoFundMe.

Organizers wrote on the page, "On 5/14/23, (Mother's Day) the Keenan family, Daniel, Christine, Joey and Logan tragically lost their home in a terrible fire that destroyed their house in a matter of minutes. Thankfully, the family is safe, however, they have been left with nothing but the clothes on their back."

The fundraiser added, "Anyone familiar with the Keenan family knows that they would be the first to step in to assist a neighbor in a time of need. So let's all come together to donate what we can, so they can get back to their lives they once had before this tragic day."

Organizer Keith Riordan said Thursday that the family is still looking for help, as the entire house was destroyed (see his photo above).

West Caldwell's volunteer Fire Department said on social media that they were dispatched to the home at 10:54 a.m. on Sunday.

A photo shows the house engulfed in flames.

An administrator of the West Essex Community Bulletin Board noted, "As many are aware of at this point, yesterday a family in West Caldwell lost everything in a fast moving fire. Currently, a Go Fund Me has been setup to financially support them. We are seeing if there is any other ways people can provide assistance. If we are able to obtain information about additional ways people are able to help we will update this thread."
