Caldwell Police Issue Snow Alert: Parking And Garbage

CALDWELL, NJ — Don’t get plan on parking on the street if the weather forecast comes to fruition, Caldwell. According to a news release from the township, municipal officials are suspending street parking starting Monday night due to a forecasted snow storm in the area.

Municipal officials issued the following advisory on Monday morning:

“[During] the pending snowstorm, please remember our borough ordinance preventing any vehicle from being parked on any snow covered roadway as there will be no on street parking allowed tonight and throughout the cleanup process of the storm… Residents are also reminded that it is against local ordinance to throw snow into the roadway at any time.”

Caldwell police advised residents not to travel during the storm “as conditions will be extremely dangerous and impassable.”

“Be prepared for the possibility of power outages, and if you experience a power failure, please contact PSE&G – do not call the police department,” officials stated.

Residents can call the Caldwell Police Department if they have any type of emergency or need assistance.

“Please check on your neighbors and, if possible, shovel out any fire hydrant near your residence,” police stated.

Tuesday’s schedule for garbage pickup is cancelled; pick up will be on Friday, officials stated.

The bulk collection for Wednesday is still on as scheduled, officials said.
