Caldwells Obitutary: Ryan Shaw

The Caldwell resident, a former student council president, was an active member of the Recovery Unplugged family.

Caldwell resident Ryan Shaw passed away on Sept. 28.

He was 32-years-old.

“Ryan Patrick Shaw, 32, beloved son of Robert and Roberta (Crosby) Shaw of Caldwell, N.J. passed away suddenly on August 28, 2015.

“Ryan, born on August 24, 1983, grew up in up in the heart of Caldwell where he would often be seen in the yard throwing a football or shooting baskets. He was a proud product of the Caldwell school system and even served as student council president while in middle school. After graduating from James Caldwell in 2001, he attended Moravian College where he was a member of the football team. After school, Ryan moved to Florida where he worked in advertising and more recently political fundraising.

“Ryan was an active member of the Recovery Unplugged family and was working very hard to maintain his sobriety. He was passionate about supporting others in similar situations.

“Ryan’s family will remember him for his big heart, kind soul, and mischievous smile. He was a people person, his quick wit and adaptable personality made him an engaging conversationalist regardless of the topic. He has taught us the power of independent thinking, to occasionally question authority, and the importance of generosity to those in need.

“Along with his parents, Ryan is survived by his sister Jennifer Lupinacci and her husband Richard, his brother John Shaw and his wife Maggie, his sister Katelyn Shaw, his nephew Aiden, and his nieces Gabriella Ryann, and Molly. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
