Clifton Stop & Shop Unveils Veteran Parking Space with Help from Santa

Stop & Shop Unveiled Veterans Only Reserved Parking Space and Donated $5,000 and 45 Turkeys to the Lakeland Marine Care Fund

Santa joined Stop & Shop associates and veteran service members as the Clifton Stop & Shop on 160 Kingsland Road unveiled a brand-new Veterans Only Reserved Parking Space and donated a check for $5,000 and 45 turkeys to the Lakeland Marine Care Fund. The priority parking space was created to provide Vets with easier access to the store.

The unveiling of the Veterans Only Reserved Parking Space and the donation to the Lakeland Marine Care Fund, is a way for the Clifton Stop & Shop to show its appreciation and thank the military members that have served our country and fought for our freedoms.

“At Stop & Shop we are committed to serving our community, but especially those who have served our country,” said John Encke, store manager of Stop & Shop Clifton. “This parking space and our donation to the Lakeland Marine Care Fund are two small ways for us to express our profound gratitude for the sacrifices and contributions that veterans have made on the battlefield, at home, and at outposts around the world.”

The Lakeland Marine Care Fund was created to help Veterans and their Families that are in need. It is one of the few Non-Profits in this country that has no overhead and zero expenses. This ensures that 100% of what it receives through donations at Rose Program charitable events and individual cash donations, will go toward Veterans and their Families.

“Having a parking space designated for veterans near the entrance of a store is often a blessing, and the fact that this Clifton Stop & Shop recognizes that a veteran may not move as easily as he or she once did, is truly appreciated,” said Edward Korek, Founder of The Marine Care Fund. “November and December can often be very difficult for our veterans, because many have families that are dealing with food insecurity and small children who are growing out of their clothes. During these winter months the Marine Care Fund will work closely with the Military Assistance Pantry which supports over 114 Veterans and their families. We are extremely grateful to Stop & Shop for their donation of $5,000 and 45 turkeys to help our veterans and their families combat hunger during this holiday season.”
